In
1999 Vail Resorts, Inc., the premier mountain resort operator in
North America, purchased VailNet/ColoradoNet, providing the capital
and continued local ownership required to support the continued
growth of the quality ISP service that VailNet and ColoradoNet are
known for.
In
February of 2001 VailNet joined Resort Technology Partners, LLC, a combined group of technology experts including InterNetWorks (developers of the vail.net and colorado.net web sites), New Media (Vail Resorts internal web development group) and Resort Technology Partners, developers of the ski pass and point of sales systems used by Vail Resorts.
In April of 2001
VailNet acquired MountainMax, another local Internet Service Provider in Eagle County. This acquisition helped to speed up the deployment of VailNet DSL services, already being provided through existing strategic relationships with local telephone companies, to almost every town and region in Eagle County. MountainMax customers gained access to VailNet's fiber optics based Internet Backbone, providing them with faster and more reliable service.
Today,
VailNet has one of the largest local backbone connections to the
Internet and offers more quality high-speed products
than any other local provider. Our staff
has over 40 years of Internet network design experience. Our backbone
to the Internet rides state of the art fiber-optics to provide the
most reliable connetion possible.
VailNet/ColoradoNet
now provides Internet access services to more than 8,000 residential
and commercial subscribers in Eagle and Summit counties. The company
specializes in high-speed Internet access solutions, including T-1
and T-3, Megabit, wireless, DSL, ISDN and frame-relay while continuing
to offer the best quality V.90 56K dialup service of any service
