Refining the MailFilter
(Quarantine Inbox tab)

Retrieve, configure, and classify messages in your Quarantine Inbox.
After logging in to the Email Filter, click on the Quarantine Inbox tab. This page shows you all of the messages delivered to your Quarantine Inbox instead of your regular email Inbox. By default, only messages with specific attachments (such as .zip) should show up here. However, if you change your Spam settings other spam messages may also be delivered to your Quarantine Inbox (see Getting Started – Customizing Mail Filter (Preferences).

Options for retrieving and configuring Quarantined messages:

To delver a good message to your email Mailbox, click on the blue Deliver link.

To whitelist (approve) senders so future messages from them automatically are deliver to your email mailbox, click on the green Whitelist link.

To delete an unwanted message, click on the red Delete link.

To perform the same action on multiple messages, click on the checkbox next to each message and then click on the appropriate button at the top (Deliver, Whitelist , or Delete).

Options for classifying and filtering your Quarantined messages:

Classifying: You can use the Quarantine Inbox screen to classify messages as “Spam” or “Not Spam“.

To do so: Click on the checkbox next to the message(s) that you want to classify.

Next, click on the corresponding button (above the list of messages), Classify as Not Spam or Classify as Spam .

Classifying messages will help train the"MailFilter"

This will increase the accuracy of email filtering for your individual mailbox. The more messages you submit to the learning system, the better the spam classification system will work.

Filtering: You can use the Quarantine Inbox screen to filter (show you) messages with specific characteristics. For instance, you can filter on any part of the From: address, the Subject, or even the Body of the message.

Choose the appropriate option in the dropdown window next to Filter:

Enter in the text you would like to filter for in the Pattern: field.

Click on the Apply Filter button to see messages that match.
