Setup Instructions for Mac OS X Dialup

MAC OS X has a simplified dialup configuration. However, if you have any questions or problems please call 970-949-3318 or write support@vail.net.

1.) Click the Apple menu and choose System Preferences.

2.) Click the Network icon.

3.) Select Internal Modem from the Configure list.

4.) Click on the TCP/IP tab.

5.) Select Using PPP from the Configure list.

6.) In the Domain Name Servers box, type our two DNS server numbers:
65.38.128.2 and 65.38.128.2.

7.) In the Search Domains box, type vail.net.

8.) Click on the PPP tab.

9.) In the Service Provider window, type VailNet.

10.) In Telephone Number, type: 949-3203.

11.) In the Account Name field, type your username (first part of your email address).

12.) Type your password in the Password window and check Save password.

13.) Click the PPP Options button and put a check in these boxes:
i.) Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications.
ii.) Disconnect when user logs out.

a.) Uncheck these boxes: i.) Prompt to stay connected. ii.) Disconnect if idle.

14.) Click the OK button.

15.) Click on the Proxies tab and uncheck all the boxes.

16.) Select the Modem tab and choose Apple Internal 56K Modem (v.90).

17.) Click the Tone button next to Dialing.

18.) Click the Save button.

19.) Close the Network window.
